What you get
Americas Best Value Inn Tucker lists the things a roadside room needs and not much else. There is free wifi and internet access, air conditioning, a TV, a telephone, an alarm clock and a hairdryer, and each room has its own bathroom with a shower, a WC and toiletries. Coffee and a microwave are listed, so you can make a hot drink and heat something without leaving the room. Family rooms and lifts are available, and pets are allowed. There is a 24 hour front desk with copy facilities. Where the list is thin is food and anything shared: no restaurant, bar, pool, gym, laundry or airport shuttle is listed, so you should not arrive expecting meals on site or a way to the terminal arranged for you.
What Americas Best Value Inn Tucker adds up to is a bed, a bathroom and a front desk that never closes, in a low-rise Tucker location off the interstate side of Greater Atlanta. The free wifi, air conditioning, microwave and fridge of a room here cover the basics for a trucker, a contractor on a short job, a family passing through, or anyone with an early flight out of the Atlanta airport who wants a cheap place to lie down rather than a destination. It is also one of the few places around that takes pets. It is wrong for you if you want a pool, a restaurant, a bar, a gym or a walkable neighbourhood to explore, or if you are planning to use your room as a base for seeing Atlanta and Decatur and will be annoyed by how little there is to do once you are back.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Decatur. They are not in any of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. They sit in the wider metro, off-loop on the east side, and Decatur is simply the nearest of those neighbourhoods, close enough to be the default answer to where you are. It is not where you are sleeping.
That matters when you plan your days. The square, the restaurants and the rest of what the loop is known for are a trip away, not a stroll from your room. Decatur itself is its own small city six miles out, with a square, a rail station and the best restaurants-per-capita in Georgia. It has the Decatur, Blue/Green rail stop, while the hotels themselves sit off the loop. Suits anyone who wants the east side and a base outside the city proper, and anyone driving in. Wrong if you pictured walking out your door into Decatur.

Booking it
Book Americas Best Value Inn Tucker through the link on this page and you are booking the room, not a resort. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
