What you get
Baymont by Wyndham College Park Atlanta Airport South lists air conditioning, lifts, a swimming pool, a TV and wifi. Those are the facilities on file, and that is the whole of them. Nothing here about meals, a gym, a shuttle or parking, so if any of those would make or break the stay, ask before you book. The building is three star, which in practice means a bed, a shower and the basics working. The 12 photos on file are the only pictures you have to go on. The pool is the one thing on the list that a plain motel would not offer, and the lifts matter if stairs are a problem.
For an early departure out of Atlanta, the Baymont by Wyndham College Park Atlanta Airport South does the job: you sleep close to the airport side of town and you are gone. For a holiday spent in the city, it does not. College Park is a separate municipality south of Atlanta, the rail label reads Airport, Red/Gold, and the site files this one off the loop, which tells you the trail connections are not the reason to stay. Book it as a functional bed near the planes. Do not book it expecting to walk out into Atlanta's restaurant and bar districts.

These hotels are not in College Park. They sit outside the twenty four neighbourhoods this site covers, in the wider metro, and College Park is only the nearest of them. Treat the label as a direction rather than an address: you are in the greater Atlanta area, and the places the loop is known for are somewhere you travel to rather than walk out into.
What you get for that is the airport line, the Red and Gold, and a bed that is off the loop rather than on it. The site's own summary puts it plainly: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday. If your trip is built around the Beltline and the neighbourhoods, book nearer the middle and pay for it.
