Canvas Haven is a four star property on Virginia Avenue Northeast, 1.0 km from the centre of Piedmont Park. The listed facilities are strongest on the practical side of a long stay. There is a full kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator and toaster, plus a washing machine, iron and board, and coffee. You get free wifi, air conditioning, a fan, a desk, a TV, towels, toiletries and a hairdryer. Outside there is a garden and a patio. Parking is free and pets are allowed. The first aid kit and smoke detector are the safety items on the list. What is thin is anything beyond the apartment itself: no restaurant, no bar, no gym, no pool, no concierge. You are booking a self contained flat, not a serviced hotel.
For the right visitor, that is the point. Canvas Haven gives you a base with the run of a kitchen and a washing machine, which changes the arithmetic of a stay of a week rather than a weekend. You can park the car, bring the dog, cook instead of eating out, and walk onto the trail from the door. Midtown is the rail label, so the city is reachable without driving. It does not suit someone who wants a lobby, room service, a bar downstairs or a single night near the airport. It suits a couple or a small group settling in for several days, with a car or a pet, who would rather have a flat than a room.

Where it puts you
Piedmont Park is on the northeast side of town, and the BeltLine mileage here is 18.3. The site's own line on it: The most expensive mile on the loop. You are paying for two hundred acres of grass and the skyline behind it. That is the trade at the centre of every stay in this neighbourhood.
For getting around, Midtown, 12 min is the connection, and the trail is at the door, so the loop carries you without a car. Expect the park and the trail to set the rhythm of the day, and expect to pay for the address. Book here if the green space and the skyline are the point of the trip. Look elsewhere if you want a quiet, cheap base.
