What you get
Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Dunwoody lists the basics you would expect from a 3 star property: free wifi, free car parking, air conditioning, a 24 hour front desk and express check in. You also get an indoor pool, a fitness center and gymnasium, a restaurant, bars and a lounge. Rooms come with a desk, coffee, a hairdryer, an iron and board, a safe and a TV. Some have a balcony or sofa bed, and kitchenettes with a microwave, refrigerator and oven appear on the list. The list is thinner on detail: it names a market, a garden, a terrace, a fireplace, a business center, laundry service, a shuttle service and wheelchair access, but says nothing about how any of it works or when it is open.
For a stay, Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Dunwoody works best if you have a car and want free parking, a pool, a gym and a restaurant without leaving the property. The Greater Atlanta setting puts you 15.4 km from Piedmont Park, which is the nearest of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, and a trail is at the door. The rail label reads Midtown, 12 min, which tells you the rail connection, but not how you reach it. The single guest score of 1 out of 5 is a warning, not a verdict. This place suits a practical stop with a vehicle; it does not suit anyone who needs a proven record of comfort or a walkable neighbourhood.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Piedmont Park, and they are not in any of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. Piedmont Park is simply the nearest of them, the closest edge of the map. What that means in practice is that you are staying in the wider metro, in Greater Atlanta, and you should expect to travel for the things the loop is famous for. The park, the skyline behind it, the busiest stretch of the BeltLine: none of it is on your doorstep.
This site calls Piedmont Park the most expensive mile on the loop, where you are paying for two hundred acres of grass and the skyline behind it. That is the neighbourhood you are travelling toward, not the one you are sleeping in. Midtown sits at 12 min on the rail label, and the trail label puts the trail at the door, but read those as labels for Piedmont Park itself. Your bed is out past it.

Booking it
Book this property only after you have read the one guest score and accepted the risk. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
