What you get
The Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Midtown lists what you would expect from a three star Marriott and little you would not. There is a 24 hour front desk, express check in and a concierge, free wifi, a business centre, a fitness centre, a restaurant and a bar or lounge, plus a market, a spa, a laundry service and dry cleaning, luggage storage and parking. Rooms come with air conditioning, a desk, a coffee maker, a microwave, a bath or shower with toiletries and towels, a hairdryer, an iron and board, a safe, a TV and a telephone, with cots and sofa beds for families. Lifts, non smoking rooms and wheelchair access are listed. The list is thinner on the resort side: a golf course, a tennis court, bowling and mini golf appear, but this is a city hotel, not a sports club, so treat those as odd extras rather than the point of the place.
What the Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Midtown adds up to is an ordinary, dependable business hotel in a Midtown location that does the practical things well. The gym, the business centre, the bar, the free wifi and the desk in the room are the features that earn the three star rating, and they are the ones most of the 276 reviews behind the score of 4 out of 5 are judging. It suits you if you are on a work trip, at a conference or passing through and want a known quantity on Peachtree Street with parking and a bar downstairs. It does not suit you if you want a holiday hotel with character, or if the cheapest possible bed in Atlanta is the goal.

Where it puts you
Midtown is the default answer for staying in Atlanta, and usually the right one. Two rail stations put the whole city within reach without a car: the Midtown, Red/Gold stop is the one you will use most, though the neighbourhood is served by more than one. The park, the High, and the trail four blocks east are all part of the package. The trail label reads 0.4 mi to trail, and the BeltLine mile is 17.6, so you are on the east side of the loop rather than at its ends.
This suits you if you want to leave the car parked and walk to what you came for, and if you would rather be in the middle of things than in a quiet residential pocket. It does not suit you if you want a quiet street, free parking, or a base for the airport side of town. The trade is convenience for calm.
