What you get
The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Atlanta Perimeter Center is a two star property in the Perimeter Center business district. Its listed facilities cover the practical end of a hotel stay: free wifi, free car parking, a 24 hour front desk, air conditioning, an indoor pool, a fitness center, a business center, laundry service, non smoking rooms and family rooms. Rooms list a desk, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, a hairdryer, an iron and board, a safe, a sofa bed and a CD player, plus a bathroom with a shower and WC. The thin spots are dining and extras: bars appear on the list but no restaurant does, and there is no airport shuttle, no spa and no outdoor space worth the name.
What that adds up to is a straightforward roadside and business hotel rather than a destination. The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Atlanta Perimeter Center works for someone with a meeting nearby, a car to park and an early start to make. The free parking and the indoor pool make it easier with children than a downtown address, and the desk, business center and wifi cover a work trip. It is wrong for a holiday built around the city's neighbourhoods, because you are 14.6 km from Piedmont Park, which is the nearest of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, and you will drive or take the train for everything. The guest score is 4.1 out of 5 from 811 reviews.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Piedmont Park. They sit outside all 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, and Piedmont Park is only the nearest of them. That distinction matters: when you book here, you are in the wider metro, not on the park's edge. The loop's famous stretch, at Beltline mile 18.3, is something you travel to rather than step out into. Expect to move for the grass, the skyline, the crowds.
Midtown is 12 min on the rail label and the trail is at the door, but treat those as the site's own shorthand, not a substitute for the park itself. What the site says of the neighbourhood: The most expensive mile on the loop. You are paying for two hundred acres of grass and the skyline behind it. On the northeast side of town, in Greater Atlanta, these hotels suit a metro base and do not suit a Piedmont Park holiday.

Booking it
Book this one direct if you want the free parking and the indoor pool without paying for a downtown address, and check the room type before you confirm, since family rooms and sofa beds are not the same as a standard king. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
