What you get
Indian Lakes lists a working kitchen rather than a token one: dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator and toaster, plus a desk, a patio, a TV, free wifi and internet access. Towels, a hairdryer, an iron and board and a bathroom cover the basics, and there is a swimming pool. Parking is free and on site, pets are allowed, and the rooms are non smoking, with a smoke detector and first aid kit noted. What the list does not give you is any sense of the building itself, the layout of the units or what the grounds look like beyond the patio.
Indian Lakes reads as a self contained base. You cook in, you park outside, you swim, and you drive out when you want to be somewhere else. That makes it a fit for families or small groups staying several days, for anyone travelling with a pet, and for people whose trip is built around a car. It is a poor fit if you want to step out to dinner or reach Decatur without driving, since the address sits 6.5 km from Decatur, which is the nearest of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, and there is no rail within the property itself. Decatur, Blue/Green is the closest rail label the site holds, and the trail position is Off the loop, so plan on a vehicle.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Decatur. They are not in any of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. They sit in the wider metro, off-loop on the east side, and Decatur is simply the nearest of those neighbourhoods, close enough to be the default answer to where you are. It is not where you are sleeping.
That matters when you plan your days. The square, the restaurants and the rest of what the loop is known for are a trip away, not a stroll from your room. Decatur itself is its own small city six miles out, with a square, a rail station and the best restaurants-per-capita in Georgia. It has the Decatur, Blue/Green rail stop, while the hotels themselves sit off the loop. Suits anyone who wants the east side and a base outside the city proper, and anyone driving in. Wrong if you pictured walking out your door into Decatur.

Booking it
Book Indian Lakes directly if the kitchen and the pool are what you are after, since those are the two things that separate it from a plain motel room. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
