What you get
The New Decatur Bungalow lists a full set of rooms rather than a single hotel room. You get a kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator and toaster, plus a washing machine, laundry service, iron and board, and a safe. There is air conditioning, heating by way of a fireplace, a fan, a TV, free wifi and internet access, and the bathrooms come with a bath, shower, WC, hairdryer, towels and toiletries. Family rooms, lifts, non smoking rooms and a smoking area are all listed, and outside there is a terrace, a picnic area and free car parking. Pets are allowed. It is a three star property, and the list is thin on the things a hotel normally adds: no restaurant, no gym, no room service, no airport shuttle.
For someone staying at the New Decatur Bungalow, that adds up to a self contained base rather than a serviced hotel. You cook, you wash, you park, and you come and go with express check in. The fireplace and terrace push it toward cooler evenings and longer stays, and pets are welcome, which rules out most hotels in the area. It suits families, groups and anyone in Decatur for more than a night or two who wants space and a kitchen. It does not suit anyone who wants a front desk, a bar downstairs or a short overnight stop before a flight.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Decatur. They are not in any of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. They sit in the wider metro, off-loop on the east side, and Decatur is simply the nearest of those neighbourhoods, close enough to be the default answer to where you are. It is not where you are sleeping.
That matters when you plan your days. The square, the restaurants and the rest of what the loop is known for are a trip away, not a stroll from your room. Decatur itself is its own small city six miles out, with a square, a rail station and the best restaurants-per-capita in Georgia. It has the Decatur, Blue/Green rail stop, while the hotels themselves sit off the loop. Suits anyone who wants the east side and a base outside the city proper, and anyone driving in. Wrong if you pictured walking out your door into Decatur.

Booking it
Book the New Decatur Bungalow directly if you want the kitchen and the parking, since those are the reasons to choose it over a hotel room. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
