What you get
Paint it Black is a four star property on Ponce De Leon Place Northeast, in Poncey-Highland, 1.1 km from the centre of Poncey-Highland. The listed facilities lean residential rather than hotel-like. You get a kitchen with an oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster and dishwasher, plus a washing machine, iron and board, and a hairdryer. There is air conditioning, a fireplace, a TV, a desk, free wifi and internet access. Outside there is a garden and a patio, and parking is free. Pets are allowed, and the property is non smoking. What the list does not cover is anything hotel-shaped: no restaurant, no bar, no gym, no lift, no front desk. You are booking a house, not a serviced room.
For the right person, that gap is the point. Paint it Black suits someone staying more than a couple of days, arriving by car, travelling with a dog, or wanting to cook rather than eat out every meal. It also suits anyone who wants the trail at the door, since the trail is the closest transport link and the setting is that of a residential street. It does not suit anyone who wants a lobby, a concierge, daily housekeeping or a short walk to a rail station, because there is no rail here. The centre of Poncey-Highland is 1.1 km from the centre of Poncey-Highland, so you can reach the neighbourhood on foot. Decide on the kitchen and the parking, not on services.

Where it puts you
You are in Poncey-Highland, on the east side of town, and the neighbourhood sits between the Clermont and Ponce City Market. The site's own line is that this is the most useful hundred yards in Atlanta if you plan to walk everywhere, and that is the honest summary: a stay here is built around leaving the car parked.
There is no rail, so getting around means the trail and the bus. The trail is at the door, which puts the BeltLine path within reach the moment you step outside, and the bus covers the rest. That combination suits anyone who wants to walk and ride and does not mind missing a train station. It suits a trip spent on foot between the two anchors either side of you, and it does not suit anyone who wants a rail connection or a quiet residential base away from the traffic.
Booking it
Book Paint it Black directly if you want the house rather than a hotel room, and check the calendar against your dates before you commit. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
