What you get
Sonesta ES Suites Atlanta Perimeter Center North is a 3 star property on Mt Vernon Highway Northeast in Greater Atlanta, and the facilities it lists are the ones that keep a longer stay running rather than the ones that make it a holiday. There is a 24 hour front desk, free wifi, a business center and a separate computer room, a meeting room and a laundry service. Rooms are non smoking, there is parking, and the property lists wheelchair accessible rooms, a picnic area, shops and a TV. Where the list is thin is food and fitness: no restaurant, no bar and no gym appear among the facilities.
What that adds up to at Sonesta ES Suites Atlanta Perimeter Center North is a place built for routine. The business center, the computer room, the meeting room and the laundry service point at people staying several days with something to do, and the parking and the picnic area point at people arriving by car and spending time on site rather than out on foot. Greater Atlanta puts this address 15.6 km from Piedmont Park, which is the nearest of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, so it is not a base for walking a neighbourhood. It suits a working stay, a longer visit and an early flight. It does not suit a holiday that depends on stepping out to bars and restaurants.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Piedmont Park, and they are not in any of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers. Piedmont Park is simply the nearest of them, the closest edge of the map. What that means in practice is that you are staying in the wider metro, in Greater Atlanta, and you should expect to travel for the things the loop is famous for. The park, the skyline behind it, the busiest stretch of the BeltLine: none of it is on your doorstep.
This site calls Piedmont Park the most expensive mile on the loop, where you are paying for two hundred acres of grass and the skyline behind it. That is the neighbourhood you are travelling toward, not the one you are sleeping in. Midtown sits at 12 min on the rail label, and the trail label puts the trail at the door, but read those as labels for Piedmont Park itself. Your bed is out past it.

Booking it
Book this one if your stay is built around a desk, a car and a set of practical facilities rather than a location you plan to walk. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
