What you get
Sonesta Select Atlanta Airport North lists the usual airport hotel equipment: a 24 hour front desk, 24H. Security, ATM, luggage storage, laundry, dry cleaning and express check in. For eating and drinking there is a restaurant, a bar, a lounge and a pool bar, with a garden for sitting out. The fitness centre and outdoor pool cover exercise, and there is parking, wheelchair access and non smoking rooms. Pets are allowed. Shuttle service and car rental service are listed. Where the list is thin is in the small print: no room service, no business centre, no spa, and the barber and beauty salon is the only personal service offered. Free wifi and internet access are both listed, so the connection is covered.
Sonesta Select Atlanta Airport North reads as a hotel built around movement rather than a long stay. You get a pool and a gym, which lifts it above a plain transit motel, but the rest of the list is functional: front desk, luggage, laundry, parking, shuttle. The 3 star rating is honest. This suits someone with an early flight, a delayed connection or a single work stop who wants a bed, a shower and a shuttle. It does not suit anyone planning to spend days in Atlanta on foot from here, because the property sits in Hapeville and you will be leaning on the shuttle and the car rental desk. If you want a poolside holiday, look elsewhere.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.
The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.
Booking it
For an airport hotel, book the Sonesta Select Atlanta Airport North as early as you can, since flights drive demand. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
