What you get

Spark by Hilton Atlanta Airport South College Park is a 3 star property on Sullivan Road, and its list leans practical. There is a 24 hour front desk, lift access, free wifi throughout, parking, luggage storage, laundry service and a market for the things you forgot. Rooms come with air conditioning, a desk, a refrigerator, a hairdryer, an iron and board, a safe, a TV and a telephone, and the hotel is non smoking. Outside there is a pool, a picnic area and a fitness centre, a lounge, a bar and snack cafe, breakfast, and a shuttle service. The list is thin on detail rather than on facilities: no room service is named, no restaurant beyond the bar and snack cafe, no business centre beyond a copy service.

What that adds up to at Spark by Hilton Atlanta Airport South College Park is a bed, a shower and a check in desk that never closes, close to the planes and to the rail line. It is right for a cancelled connection, an early departure, a cheap stop on a drive down Interstate 85, or a short working stay on the south side. It is wrong for a holiday built around restaurants, sightseeing and an evening out on foot: College Park has a centre, but the property sits away from the restaurants and bars you would walk to. Families fit the family rooms; anyone without a car should lean on the shuttle.

Where it puts you

These hotels sit in College Park, on the airport side of town, and the rail connection is the reason to be here. Airport, Red/Gold is the line you want: it puts you on the same system that runs through the centre, so you can reach Five Points without a car, and the site's own verdict on the area is blunt enough to quote: the cheapest bed in metro Atlanta and sixteen minutes by train to Five Points. Right for an early flight, wrong for a holiday.

The BeltLine side is different. College Park is off the loop, which means the trail is not on your doorstep and this is not a neighbourhood you pick for walking the city. What is walkable here is ordinary: you stay close to the station, you eat nearby, you sleep. Book it if you have a plane to catch or you want the lowest bed cost in the metro. Do not book it if you came to Atlanta for the BeltLine.

Asked often

Spark by Hilton Atlanta Airport South College Park, specifically.

Where is Spark by Hilton Atlanta Airport South College Park? +

On Sullivan Road, 2.8 km from the centre of College Park, on Atlanta's south side. It is an airport property, positioned for the terminals and for Interstate 85, not for downtown Atlanta. A car or the shuttle covers the gap to the terminals.

What is there to eat at the hotel? +

The property lists breakfast, a bar or snack cafe and a market. There is no separate full service restaurant named in the facilities, so for a proper dinner you want College Park's centre or a delivery order. The market covers drinks and snacks outside those hours.

How do you get into Atlanta from College Park? +

By rail. The Airport, Red/Gold line runs from the airport into the city, and a shuttle connects the property to the airport side. Driving in is straightforward via Interstate 85. The trail label, Off the loop, applies to the reference points rather than to a route into town.

What does the 3.7 out of 5 guest score mean? +

It is the average from 990 reviews, so a broadly positive but not glowing record. Read it as a solid, functional airport stay: people get what the listing promises, and the complaints tend to be about the location and the food rather than the rooms.
