What you get
The Secluded Secret in Stone Mountain is a four star property on Allgood Road, and the list of what comes with it is mostly the list of a whole house. There is a kitchen with an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a toaster, coffee is provided, and there is a washing machine and laundry service on top of that. The rooms are non smoking, air conditioned, and come with a desk, a fan, a hairdryer, an iron and board, towels and a safe. Bath, shower and WC are listed separately, as are free wifi and free car parking. Where the list goes quiet is on anything beyond the building: no restaurant, no bar, no gym, no pool, and no shuttle. The garden and the parking are the whole of the outside.
What that adds up to is a base, not a resort. The Secluded Secret in Stone Mountain gives you a kitchen you can actually cook in, a washing machine, a car space and a garden, which is more than most hotels on this side of Greater Atlanta hand over. It sits 8.1 km from Decatur, which is the nearest of the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, so you are not in Decatur and you are not pretending to be. Book it if you are driving, if you want room to spread out, and if a quiet evening matters more than a short walk to dinner. Skip it if you want to leave the car parked and walk to bars, or if you are in Atlanta without a car at all.

Where it puts you
These hotels are not in Decatur. They sit in the wider metro, outside the 24 neighbourhoods this site covers, and Decatur is only the nearest of them. Treat that as the shape of the stay: you are based in greater Atlanta, not on the loop, and you should expect to travel for the things the loop is famous for. Decatur itself is its own small city six miles out, with a square, a rail station and the best restaurants-per-capita in Georgia, and the Blue/Green lines stop there, so it is reachable rather than next door.
For the BeltLine, look to the trail: these addresses sit off the loop, at the far end of the mile markings this site uses, and getting onto it means a deliberate trip rather than a stroll out of the lobby. Choose these hotels if you want the metro and its edges, not if you want to wake up inside the city the site is about.

Booking it
Book this one directly if the quiet and the parking are what you are after, because that is what the listing is really selling. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
