What you get
Decaturs Discovery is the whole flat, and the list reads like one: a kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator and toaster, plus a bathroom with towels and a hairdryer, an iron and board, a desk, a TV and free wifi. There is free car parking, and pets are allowed. The thin part is the rest of the building. No restaurant, no gym, no reception desk, no lift, no laundry room. Non smoking rooms and a smoke detector are the whole of what is said about the rooms themselves.
What that adds up to: Decaturs Discovery is a self contained base for someone who treats Decatur as a place to live for a week rather than a hotel to pass through. You cook, you park, you bring the dog, you come and go. It suits long stays, families and anyone driving in. It does not suit anyone who wants their bed made, their bags carried or a bar downstairs.

Decatur is its own small city six miles out, with a square, a rail station and the best restaurants-per-capita in Georgia. That rail station is on the Blue and Green lines, so you can reach the rest of the system without driving and without a transfer at a downtown hub. The square, the station and the surrounding streets are the walkable part, and they hold most of what you would come here for.
This is off the loop, so the BeltLine trail is not on your doorstep; the trail label reads off the loop. Suits anyone who wants a self-contained town with a rail link and a real restaurant scene. Does not suit anyone who wants to step out onto the BeltLine or be in central Atlanta.
