What you get
Discover Decatur lists a full set of rooms for living rather than a room for sleeping. There is a kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, refrigerator and toaster, so you can cook instead of eating out every meal. The bathroom comes with towels and a hairdryer. You get a desk, a TV, free wifi and internet access, non smoking rooms, a smoke detector, free car parking and pets allowed. That is a practical list. What it leaves out is the hotel side: there is no restaurant, no bar, no gym, no pool and no reception to speak of, and the twelve photos on file are what you have to go on.
What that adds up to is a self contained base in Decatur rather than a serviced hotel. Discover Decatur works if you are in town for more than a night or two and want to shop, cook and park without paying for it twice, and it works if you are travelling with a dog. The 1.8 km from the centre of Decatur puts the middle of town within reach on the Decatur, Blue/Green, though you should not book here expecting to fall out of bed into a bar. If you want staff on hand, a daily clean or somewhere to eat downstairs, this is the wrong property.

Decatur is its own small city six miles out, with a square, a rail station and the best restaurants-per-capita in Georgia. That rail station is on the Blue and Green lines, so you can reach the rest of the system without driving and without a transfer at a downtown hub. The square, the station and the surrounding streets are the walkable part, and they hold most of what you would come here for.
This is off the loop, so the BeltLine trail is not on your doorstep; the trail label reads off the loop. Suits anyone who wants a self-contained town with a rail link and a real restaurant scene. Does not suit anyone who wants to step out onto the BeltLine or be in central Atlanta.

Book Discover Decatur directly if you want the apartment for several days and need the parking and the kitchen confirmed before you commit, since those are the parts that make the stay work.
