What you get
Feel the Berne is a four star apartment on Berne Street Southeast, and the list behind it is built for living rather than for a short hotel stopover. The kitchen side is unusually full for a place of this rating: oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, coffee, plus a washing machine, an iron and board, a hairdryer and towels. Air conditioning, free wifi, a desk and a TV cover the working and unwinding end. There is free car parking, pets are allowed, and the rooms are non smoking. Where the list is thin is staffing and service: no reception, no bar, no breakfast, nothing indicating anyone is on site to meet you.
For someone staying here, that combination points to a longer visit than a one night stop. Feel the Berne suits a small group or a couple who want to cook, wash clothes, park a car and keep a pet with them, and who are content to treat the place as a base rather than a serviced hotel. The Grant Park address puts you close to the neighbourhood core. It does not suit anyone who wants a lobby, a concierge, daily housekeeping or a room service number to call. Choose it for the space and the self sufficiency, not for being looked after.

Where it puts you
These hotels sit in Grant Park, on the southeast side of the city, and the neighbourhood is the reason to pick them. The zoo, the Cyclorama and the best Sunday farmers market in the city are here. Families end up here and stay put. The BeltLine is close at hand, with the trail 0.6 mi to trail, so you can walk or ride the loop rather than drive it.
For getting around, King Memorial, 20 min puts you on rail without needing a car for every trip. Come here if you want a residential pocket with real draws and a trail on the doorstep. Look elsewhere if you want downtown at street level or a quick weekend of bar hopping, because this is a slower, family-shaped part of town.
Booking it
Book Feel the Berne only if you want an apartment you run yourself in Grant Park, with parking and a kitchen doing the work a hotel restaurant would. Most rooms here can be cancelled free, and you book them through app.impt.io. Every confirmed booking removes one tonne of CO2, at no extra cost to you. Five percent of what you pay comes back as IMPT credit, out of the hotel commission rather than added to your bill.
Facts on this page come from the booking supplier's record: star class, address, photographs and facility list. Guest scores come from verified stays. We have not stayed here; the neighbourhood copy is our own.
